勤儉是中華民族的傳統(tǒng)美德，歷來(lái)為國(guó)人所提倡。傳統(tǒng)文化推崇勤儉，那是一種行為，更是一種品德；賢哲偉人推崇它，那是一粥一飯，當(dāng)思來(lái)處不易，半絲半縷，恒念物力維艱；現(xiàn)代文明推崇它，那是對(duì)有限資源的珍視，對(duì)過(guò)度消費(fèi)的抵制。社會(huì)要進(jìn)步，國(guó)家要發(fā)展，這一切都離不開(kāi)資源的消耗，但這一切，更離不開(kāi)人們的勤儉。 

Diligence is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation and has always been advocated by the people of the country. Traditional culture respects diligence, it is a kind of behavior, it is a kind of morality; the great man of sage praises it, it is a porridge and a meal, when it is not easy to think, it is half-baked, and the constant thoughts are difficult; modern civilization respects it. That is a cherish for limited resources and a resistance to excessive consumption. The society needs to progress, and the country needs to develop. All of this is inseparable from the consumption of resources, but all this is inseparable from people's diligence.

勤儉，中華民族的優(yōu)良傳統(tǒng)，現(xiàn)代文明的內(nèi)在訴求。勤儉，是一種操守，是一種品行，是一種素養(yǎng)，是一種美德。但隨著人們生活條件的逐步提高，浪費(fèi)現(xiàn)象也越來(lái)越嚴(yán)重，一些飯店、家庭、學(xué)校等浪費(fèi)現(xiàn)象隨處可見(jiàn)。而現(xiàn)代化的工業(yè)生產(chǎn)、人們的日常生活每天都要消耗比以往更多的能源，各種資源日益枯竭，節(jié)能減排迫在眉睫。

10月31日世界勤儉日（World Thrift Day）最早是在1924年舉辦的第一屆國(guó)際儲(chǔ)蓄銀行大會(huì)上由意大利教授Filippo Ravizza提出并最終于2006年由聯(lián)合國(guó)確立的。該節(jié)日的確立旨在號(hào)召人們勤儉節(jié)約以共同應(yīng)對(duì)日益嚴(yán)重的資源危機(jī)，進(jìn)而促進(jìn)社會(huì)的健康可持續(xù)發(fā)展。

On October 31st, World Thrift Day was first proposed by Italian professor Filippo Ravizza at the first International Savings Bank Conference held in 1924 and finally established by the United Nations in 2006. The establishment of the festival aims to call for people to diligently save to cope with the increasingly serious resource crisis, and thus promote the healthy and sustainable development of society.
