1. overhear

 無(wú)意中聽(tīng)到，偶然聽(tīng)到

I overheard a very funny conversation on the bus this morning.

2. mishear

 聽(tīng)錯(cuò)，誤聽(tīng)

I'm sure I didn't say that! You must have misheard (me).

我肯定沒(méi)說(shuō)過(guò)那句話！你一定是聽(tīng)錯(cuò)了。

3. keep your ear to the ground

耳聽(tīng)八方；保持關(guān)注

Peter'll know; he always keeps an ear to the ground.

4. catch

聽(tīng)見(jiàn)，聽(tīng)到

I couldn't catch what the announcer said, with all the other noise going on.
