仰望星空

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson were going camping. They pitched their tent under the stars and went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night Holmes woke Watson up and said: “Watson, look up at the stars, and tell me what you see.”

福爾摩斯和華生醫(yī)生當(dāng)時(shí)正在野外宿營(yíng)。他們傾斜著將帳篷扎在星空下，然后進(jìn)入了夢(mèng)鄉(xiāng)。忽然，半夜福爾摩斯醒過(guò)來(lái)叫醒華生，并對(duì)他說(shuō)：“華生，仰望星空，然后告訴我你看到了什么”。

Watson replied: “I see millions and millions of stars.”

華生說(shuō)：“我看到了成千上萬(wàn)顆星星”。

Holmes said: “and what do you deduce from that?”

福爾摩斯說(shuō)：“你從中可以得出什么結(jié)論呢”？

Watson replied: “Well, if there are millions of stars, and if even a few of those have planets, it’s quite likely there are some planets like earth out there. And if there are a few planets like earth out there, there might also be life.”

華生說(shuō)：“如果那里有成千上萬(wàn)顆星星，即使只有一些是行星。那就很有可能有和地球相似的星球。如果有類(lèi)似地球的星球的話，那里一定會(huì)有生命的存在”。

And Holmes said: “Watson, you idiot, it means that somebody stole our tent.”

福爾摩斯說(shuō)：“華生，你這個(gè)傻瓜，那意味著有人偷了我們的帳篷”。
